Service resources represent the service technicians who perform the service tasks. Service crews are nothing but the group of service resources who are working as a team. To set up a service resource, you have to create a user account for that technician.
To create a service resource, Go to the Field Service Admin app and click Guided Setup. From the left side navigation select Create Service Resources menu and there you can create service resources by providing the details such as Name, Service territory and user lookup. Keep in mind that we can create only one service resource for a single user record.
To create a service crew, search Service Crews from the app launcher and open the same. Click New and provide the name and size of the crew, Save it. To add the resources to the crew, go to the related list of the crew record, by using the Service Resources related list add the resources.
Service territories are the region or geographical areas where your service resources operate. Also you can create a hierarchy of territories if needed.
To configure the service territories, Go to the Field Service Admin app and click Guided Setup. From the left side navigation select Create Service Territories menu and there you can create the service territories and also you can see the list of service territories already created. By clicking on the service territories name we can update the details like Name, Operating hours and Address.
To set up the operating hours, click App Launcher, search and open the Operating Hours tab. Click New and fill out the necessary details such as Name, Time Zone, and Start / End times for each day of the week and then click Save.
Operating hours consist of designated time slots, which are configured through the Time Slots related list on an operating hours record. These time slots may differ from one day to another. Although a day can have several time slots, it is crucial that these intervals are consecutive to ensure the proper consideration of hours during optimization. To illustrate, a record for operating hours might include the subsequent time intervals. Remember, Operating Hours can be associated with Service Appointments, Service Resources, and more.
Holidays specify the days or hours when your business or service resources are closed or unavailable. You can create operating hours and holidays in Salesforce and assign them to service territories, service territory members, and accounts. This way, you can optimize your field service work and avoid scheduling delays.
Time Slot :
A Timeslot represents a period of time on a specified day of the week during which work can be performed. To create a time slot, go to the Operating hour record page and click New from Time Slots related list and provide the necessary information and Save.
